Ummmm…..

Y’all are literally doing that exact thing, but against the police.

The only difference; society & the law attempt to hold shitty police accountable. There haven’t been any protests or groups of protesters denouncing the violence caused by rioters. Police very commonly voice their concerns with how shitty police make all police look bad. Can’t say the same about the protesters.

Nice try though

Bullshit. It’s the exact opposite.

The vast majority of BLM protests has been completely peaceful. On top of that, BLM takes responsibility for its members, and repairs damages even when they didn’t cause it.

Meanwhile, do you remember the George Floyd case? The first reaction of the police was to claim that Floyd just spontaneously died, and that Chauvin & company just “restrained” him. They did thia for days, despite the fact that there was a video of the event being publicly shared

Also, you can’t pretend everyone at a protest is part of a single cohesive unit. They are coming together on an issue, yes, but they are citizens, not professionals. They aren’t trained. Anyone can rock up and join a protest.

Police officers are doing their JOB. Not any random person can arrive and decide they’re on the police’s side and join in. They have professional training and standards and *should* be held accountable in different ways. They’re meant to be representing and upholding a single, central set of standards, policies, laws and practices.

I love empath discourse on twitter. Encountering that kind of silliness in the wild is so funny

Empaths, which are totally real, are problematic because they [spins wheel] attract energy vampires

White allies and white leftists and liberals need to read this.

In regards to posts about racism or intersectionality with race involved you MUST listen. Not respond. LISTEN

What I have seen so many white “allies” do is add onto posts (my own included) to put their own thoughts and opinions. In some cases take the words of the original poster and try to “translate” what is being said to other white people.

You are ACTIVELY taking away the voices of poc and speaking over them when you do this. When you tack on your own personal anecdotes or try to to give a definition of what a person or color is saying you are in the simplest of ways insulting their intelligence

I have multiple posts on this site talking about racism and there is ALWAYS a white person ready to reblog it with their own commentary. You are NOT helping. And you are being micro aggressive

Your job as an ally is to uplift our voices. Not add your own.

Please sit down with yourself and ask yourself why you feel the need to insert yourself into a conversation that does not need your opinion. No matter if you agree or not.

Please save your thoughts and opinions for the tags. This isn’t a blackboard discussion class

This won’t get as many notes as my other posts and I know this but I still must say it because it’s so very aggravating and honestly very rude

tumblr comedy I haven’t seen in a while and I kind of miss: when someone says like ‘smoothies are great’ and then someone else says ‘juices are great too!’ and the first person says ‘make your own post’ and then the second person says ‘okay’ and then you scroll down and theres a second post.

I also love seeing posts where someone says something that clearly sets up a joke and then has very obviously messaged their friend to question it in a reblog so they deliver the punchline with maximum impact. Haven’t seen that in a while

make your own post

Everyone should know the international sign for Help Me. Let’s make this famous!!

image

Interesting; I didn’t know this was a thing.

It’s apparently a thing, but it’s a very new thing, so it may need some help being known.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_for_Help

[ID: A video depicting various instances of people using a signal for help. A graphic shows a hand with the fingers raised and the thumb against the palm, and then the fingers down over the thumb. The images of the hand are captioned “1: Palm to camera and tuck thumb” and “2: trap thumb.” It is identified as the “Violence At Home Signal for Help.” The next panel of the graphic reads “Use this signal to ask for help on a video call without leaving a digital trace. If you see this sign on a video call, find out how to help below.” No link is provided on the graphic. End ID]
